Refusing to grow up brings its own problems
But clinging to your youth and refusing to take on a properly adult role also has dangers. If you try to ‘just be a kid’ with your own children, to be a ‘best friend’ more than a mom or dad, you may deprive them of the truly adult role model that they need to experience in order to develop properly themselves. It may also lead you to behave irresponsibly – which is not at all the same thing as having a childlike attitude to life.
